WORKSHOP AT ARTISAN SOUTH BRISBANE | Flow Dyeing with Ink on Silk and Cotton with Helle Cook
Sat 13/5/2023 - 2-5pm - artisan's workshop location South Brisbane, 170 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane, Queensland 4101 Find inspiration in urban light and environment with this dyeing with Ink Workshop hosted by Helle Cook. You will be working with sheer silk and cotton textiles as we draw upon our senses in hand-stitching and pouring/painting non-toxic flowing inks. All materials, including one large piece of silk and cotton muslin (each approx. 150cm x 90cm) will be provided. While creating, the silks will be folded on top of watercolour paper, and we will end up with surprising works on paper too. The evocative textile works can be used as e.g. luminous wall-hung art, sheer room-dividers, scarfs and/or perhaps even a simple wearable top.
